Abrasion
It is important to evaluate the resistance of coated surfaces to abrasion. Abrasion commonly occurs when a coated surface meets another surface or substance.
In heavy traffic areas, painted surfaces may need to be regularly cleaned, and again it is important to evaluate the effect of repeated washing, with or without detergents on the coating being used.
It is not only from a cosmetic point of view that we need to determine the resistance of coatings. Depending on the substrate, a loss of coating over time may lead to corrosion and weaknesses.
We supply a variety of laboratory instruments that are designed to test the resistance of coatings to scrubbing, water, solvents, and other abrasions. They are compliant with a wide range of international standards.
