The wire wound rods are made from stainless steel and are corrosion-resistant. A coating of paint or ink is drawn down by a known thickness wire-rod applicator over a substrate (eg. Black/White Test Chart, Glass or Wood Panel, etc.) The motion of the drawdown is done by gripping the 2 edges of the applicator or by using the Holder available as an optional accessory (T01-700132) These wire wound rods provide an economical way to assure the uniformity of thickness of very thin films.
