The Pinhole Detector will detect pinholes and flaws found in coatings on conductive substrates, it does this using the wet sponge method. These flaws would eventually lead to corrosion and premature failure of the coating, so it is important that any such flaws are identified and remedial action taken to minimise the risks associated with corrosion and coating failure. Operation is by a wet sponge, which is moistened with water containing a wetting agent, being moved over the coating. If a pinhole is detected, the water will make a conductive path through the pinhole in the coating to the metal substrate, the audible alarm will sound and the red flashing fault indicator will illuminate. Supplied in an industrial Carrying Case with Sponge Assembly and Earth Cable (5m)
